DICK JOHNSON FLAGS OFF THE
CONVOY
A total of 11 RV’s and two cars
are part of Winnebago’s RV Fuel Economy Run from the Gold
Coast in Queensland to Winton Raceway in Victoria. The
official test team comprises various size motorhomes, a
Caravan and a 5th Wheeler. All vehicles range in size and
price.
Dick Johnson flagged off the
team from the Gold Coast at 9.30 on Sunday Morning July 27
and the convoy headed towards Coffs Harbour, stopping at
Ballina and Grafton, opening the RV’s for public access.
The public is invited to come
along and meet the team and view the RV’s as the Safari
arrives in each town along the route.
The convoy drove together along
the Pacific Highway at a steady speed, led by the NRMA
official vehicle which monitors fuel consumption on the
journey to ensure an accurate figure is obtained at the end
of the trip, arriving at Winton on August 1 for the V8
Supercars.
Four of the participants in the
Fuel Economy Run are Winnebago RV Club Members with their
privately owned motorhomes, those who are passionate about
the motorhome lifestyle and the ability to travel Australia
is comport and self contained style as all Winnebago
Motorhomes are equipped with a comprehensive kitchen, a
bathroom with hot and cold water and a toilet that flushes,
just like home, lighting, comfortable beds and loads of
storage so no matter where you go, you have everything with
you and you have the freedom to control your own journey and
your budget.
Motorhomes can save you around
75% on a journey against the more traditional method of
travelling i.e. a car, motel and eating out, and motorhomes
are surprisingly (to many) economical on fuel, often using
less than your average large car or SUV
